Packed Cooling Tower

A packed tower is a widely used high-efficiency gas-liquid mass transfer equipment with the characteristics of low pressure-drop, low energy consumption and high efficiency.

It is widely used in chemical separation processes such as distillation, gas absorption and cooling. It’s usually used for the treatment of clean and particle-free gas.

The liquid enters from the upper part of the tower, is evenly distributed on the packing through the liquid distributor, and then flows downward along the surface of the packings to transfer heat and mass with the ascending gas.

The gas enters from the lower part of the tower, passes through the gas distribution device, and evenly passes through the packing layer upward, and contacts the spray liquid on the surface of the packing.

The packed tower is a continuous contact gas-liquid mass transfer equipment. Usually, the gas phase is a continuous phase, and the liquid phase is a dispersed phase. The composition of the gas phase and the liquid phase changes continuously along the height of the packing layer until the ideal gas phase composition is obtained at the top of the packing layer.
